ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Presli enjoys reading in her free time, although sometimes she finds it hard to take the time to read during her very limited free time. She's currently reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, which she didn't have a lot of time to read over the summer. However, she did read How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas Foster and Obasan by Joy Kogawa this summer. Last year, she estimates that she read around eight books, most of which were for her required english class. Presli is surrounded by books in her home- she estimates she has around 250 books in her house. She enjoys reading when she finds time to; some of her favorite authors to read are John Green, Alice Sebold, Rupi Kaur, and Stephen King (which is a pretty interesting mix of authors!) Presli describes herself as a reader who enjoys immersing herself into the story and feels emotionally connected to the characters. She's grown as a reader in the past few years by reading more challenging books that introduce new vocabulary and new styles of writing.
As a writer herself, Presli believes that people write to express feelings in a unique way that they may not be able to express otherwise. Writing creates an opportunity to share ideas with others and can create an environment where people can relate to each other. Presli describes herself as a writer; she learned how to write much like she learned how to read- at a very young age from practicing with her parents. In order to write well, writing often and practicing grammar is key. Her favorite thing to write is about her own life through journal entries, blogs, tweets, and more.
